Great Visit

Duece came for a visit on Zack's birthday.  We haven't seen Deucy Doo since May so Zack couldn't have got a better surprise gift.

He was so happy to have his ol pal back for the morning

It was Molly's first take of Deuce and she was just fine.   She checked him all over and then teased him something awful running up and taking off, running circles like a mad thing - Deuce thought it was the best game.   He was really good with her.   Molly is surprisingly brave when it comes to dogs.

The three of them were so cute together.

Before heading out for our walk Zack just had to hang out with Deuce whereever he was....bless him

We couldn't have had a better weather for Zack's Birthday walk.   It was just perfect.   He and Deuce just loved the off leash and all the smells...

Had a good romp together.

Deuce watched on

while Zack would run like a mad thing through the long grass leaping like a kangaroo so he could see where Deucy was.   They were keeping an eye on each other that's for sure.

Deuce is nearly 13 so before you know it we have been 5km (Zack many more ahahah) and it was time to go home.  Molly pulled up the rear and we headed back to the car.

I think Zack had a good birthday......and he deserved it

Dog Day 2 - Somewhere Different

Every day I try to take the dogs on a different route for their walk but it is always a nice change to go "out of town" somewhere different.   On Saturday we took them for a walk along one of the many irrigation canal dirt roads  - mostly for Zacky so he can have some off leash time and put all his terrierness to work.   He loved every minute of it.

He trotted along the road, sniffed every crack, hole, weed, grass, dead thing, shit, you name it he was there ahahah

He led us down the long and winding road

to the spillway

Molly got right into the action too and sniffed out lots of holes for critters  along the way .... Zack will turn her into a border terrier yet.....

Then again may be not LOL

Dog Day Out - Part 1

Last weekend we loaded up "the kids" in the car ready for the off.   Molly has now got her own booster seat and harness and it was her "maiden voyage" in it so we didn't know what to expect.   Zack is so good but we weren't sure how Molly would be as she has only travelled in a kennel.   This way she can see out and it is still safe as they are harnessed in.

I think she liked having a raised bed in the car and travelled brilliantly.... phew...

Zacky kept a watchful eye over her all the same.....

What a good boy.

Good Day Planned

I just had to get a picture of Zack and Molly together while the grass is still green.   Fall is fast approaching and before you know it we will have snow on the ground so I am taking every opportunity to get out and about while we can and enjoy the gorgeous weather we are having at the moment.

I can picture Molly being a "fair weather" girl as she doesn't like getting her feet too wet or anything BOL..... I don't even know if she has been outside in snow before so that shall be interesting.
Zack will show her the ropes tho on how to get down and dirty and how to look like "the iceman".

We are taking the dogs out for a day trip today seeing the weather is gorgeous out there.  If they only knew what we had planned they would be bouncing off the walls.....I see walks along the  irrigation canal, a beach and chuck it ball on the horizon and hey what the hell Waterton Lakes National Park to round out the day.   Should be fun!!!!

Early Fall Clean Up

Zacky was looking somewhat bored so as I am on holidays from work this week I got an idea....

after looking how scruffy Zack was looking I thought it was time

for this - bath mat on the table time for Zacky - he actually doesn't mind having his coat stripped at all and was quite interested in all my "tools" and knew what was coming

1.5 hours later and he looks like this....

most of the grey is gone and he looks like a young pup again don't ya Zacky :)

Didn't want to leave Molly out so she got a bath and groom out.    I have to be so gentle with her whenever I do anything as she soon reverts back to being very nervous and shy at new things.   She seemed to enjoy the groom the tub not so much tho but we are working on it.   I think I got just as wet as she did.

A wet Molly meant just another game to Zack - with her tearing around in the garden and shaking - Zack would literally stalk her like she was prey and then pounce (in a good way) -  he is weird sometimes and always makes me laugh.

Summer Fun

My husband bought me the best anniversary present this summer, our very own dog bike trailer.   It is a bit smaller than the one we borrowed but both dogs fit in there just fine.    Zack likes to look out the front

and Molly looks out back.  It is really cute.    Zacky has the habit every time I start off with my first pedal he barks his head off - makes me jump every time even though I know it's coming LOL - not sure if he is trying to catch me or stop me!!!!   Once we are off he settles down.

Even though it's me doing all the biking and pulling the dogs, they always seem a little tired when we get back.   May be it's all the stimulation which is also important for them I reckon.

Summer days just means lounging on the deck and snoozing in the sun.   Ahhhh that's the life.
